JASON Matthews is looking to reward those Terras’ fans making the lengthy trip to King’s Lynn Town on Saturday (3pm) with a positive result from his side.
The Terras’ supporters coach is set to depart the Bob Lucas Stadium at 7am on Saturday to make the trip to the Walks Stadium, with Weymouth deadlocked on points with the Linnets in the league at present.
Speaking ahead of the near 500-mile round trip, Matthews told Echosport: “It would be nice to give the fans something to cheer.
“It’s a long way for the boys and it’s a big journey.
“Sometimes I feel it can work in your favour, in the fact that it brings you together when you go a long way on a Saturday, and you don’t want to lose!
“We need to win games of football now, draws are no good.”
He added: “King’s Lynn are a similar sort of team to us, they have drawn a lot of games as well, so something has to give.
“They are a similar size club to Weymouth. Both teams are in mid-table and would like to be higher at this stage of the season.”
Matthews insists Jake Wannell has an “outside chance” of recovering in time of from a hamstring injury to feature.
Mark Cooper (hamstring) and Ben Thomson (side strain) are still definitely out.
The sides played out a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture last month.
