HAYES & Yeading United will have to make a hat-trick of trips to the Bob Lucas Stadium, after their scheduled clash against the Terras was postponed due to fog for a second time this season.
You had to feel for United, whose officials and players could only stand around as the fog failed to clear at the Bob Lucas Stadium tonight, in a game that, in all honestly, never even looked like getting started.
The Weymouth players and officials were also left frustrated by the situation having also been denied the chance to follow up on Saturday’s 6-1 win at King’s Lynn Town.
Speaking to Echosport after the contest was called off, Terras’ chairman Chris Pugsley said: “It’s dreadful.
“We were on a bit of a run and we had a great performance on Saturday. We were really looking forward to tonight’s match.
“You have to sympathise with Hayes & Yeading more than us. They have made this journey twice now, which is really bad for them.”
When the sides met back in October, the contest lasted just 15 minutes before the game was abandoned at 0-0.
Another rearrangement of the fixture is set to be announced in due course.
