SKIPPER Stephane Zubar insisted he was going to enjoy his side’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Kettering Town and insisted the Terras’ fans deserved to see his winning goal.
Zubar popped up with a powerful header three minutes from time to seal the three points for the hosts to send the home fans, who he has been a huge hit with this season, into raptures.
The talismanic centre-half also underlined that he was fully prepared on finishing the campaign on a high with Weymouth before considering his options for next term.
Speaking after the victory over the Poppies, the former AFC Bournemouth man told Echosport: “It’s a nice feeling that we won.
“The fans deserve it. We have done not too badly away from home but at home we have been terrible, so we are going to enjoy it (the win).
“The first half we were alright and we did very well in the second half, I hope everyone had a good weekend and enjoyed it, because we have been through a lot this season.
“I try to show them (his team-mates) exactly what we should do on the pitch and that’s to give everything. I think in the second half we gave everything.”
Asked about his own playing future for next term, Zubar added: “We will see what will happens next season. Anything can happen.
“I just want to enjoy football and I think this is a nice place to be, why not try to build up something for next season?
“At first I will just try to help us finish as high as we can this season. I will have to have a chat with the staff with what exactly we want to achieve and what we want to do.
“I don’t want to think about next season, I am here to finish well this season.
“We have five or six weeks and we will enjoy it, then we will see.”
