HYTHE & DIBDEN 2

WEYMOUTH RESERVES 2

WEYMOUTH Reserves slipped to an unexpected 2-2 draw as they failed to assert their dominance against Hythe & Dibden.

The Terras twice lost their lead as goals from Conor Jevon and an own goal were cancelled out by the hosts, who capitalised on defensive errors to secure themselves a much-needed point.

Speaking after the game, manager Bradley Asagba was disappointed with his side’s sub-standard performance, and said he expected better.

“It was just one of those games where we were below the standards which we expect.

“After the first 10 minutes, it looked like it would be a really comfortable evening but we didn’t follow through on the start we made.

“You can blame numerous areas of the build-up which weren’t helpful but they had no relevance on our performance, and we just weren’t at it in a game I expected us to win.

“We just didn’t get out of first gear and theirs no running away from it, it was a disappointing result but we have a game on Saturday to get back on track.”

Weymouth Reserves play at Fleet Spurs on Saturday in Sydenhams Wessex Division One (3pm).
