WEYMOUTH and Gillingham Town will once again lock horns with silverware on the line at the Avenue, as the Dorset FA announced this year’s venue for the Dorset Senior Cup final.
The two sides, who faced off in the climax of last season’s competition in the county town, are set to do it again at the home of Dorchester Town on Tuesday, April 11 (7.45pm).
The Terras are going for their third straight county trophy under manager Jason Matthews – last season his side overcame Gillingham thanks to a double from former player assistant-manager Tim Sills.
Striker Phil Ormrod, who now plies his trade with Dorchester Town, scored for the Gills against the Terras last term.
As many as six players from the Terras’ starting XI from last year’s final have left the club since last year.
This season, Weymouth have overcome Verwood, Sherborne and Wimborne, only conceding one goal in the process to reach the final.
