WEYMOUTH RESERVES 4

EAST COWES VICTORIA 0

WEYMOUTH Reserves recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory over East Cowes Victoria at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The visitors dominated the opening period but the Terras grew into the match and dominated at a canter.

Two goals from Conor Jevon, and strikes from Will Gape and Gabriel Borowski secured the win, and manager Bradley Asagba was happy his side managed to win despite their below-par performance.

He said: “It was a case of job done. The first 10 minute I think East Cowes carried quite a bit of threat as they were finding more openings than I would have liked, but we grew into the game. From then we just managed the game without really exerting ourselves.

“When we moved through the gears we looked like a threat but I think it was one of those games where we just played within ourselves a little bit and did what we needed to do.

“Credit to East Cowes, they travelled a long way and they did have a game plan and they had the better of it early on, but the first goal just settled us down and really there was only one team that was going to win it.

“You can’t always play at your maximum every week, and with the number of changes we made, the players did well to manage themselves through the performance.

“Any league game where you’re able to win 4-0 without being flat out is a credit to the players.

“Although the performance wasn’t as good as we would have liked it’s a job well done, the run continues and we move on to the next game.”
