WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley is expecting a tough pre-season test when his side make the trip to Taunton Town this evening (7.45pm).
The Terras’ manager has seen his squad in action against full-time opposition this term, with the likes of Yeovil Town, Exeter City and Torquay United all visiting the Bob Lucas Stadium so far.
But, with his troops now set to hit the road to take on the Southern League South & West Peacocks, Molesley is expecting a more realistic test of what his side could come up against this season.
“We are looking for the physical demands and to be tested against what we are going to come up against week in week out,” he said.
“I think we are certainly going to get that against Taunton, who are a big, strong physical side and it’s about how we equip ourselves against them.”
With three friendly fixtures remaining in their schedule, all against non-League opposition, Molesley insists he is still looking to try out different options.
He added: “We are still at the experimental stage at the moment, so the result isn’t the most important thing. It’s about the performance and the process. Hopefully we will tick a few more boxes and get to our end goal.”
