WEYMOUTH assistant-manager Paul Maitland believes the clash at AFC Totton, in the BigFreeBet.com Challenge Cup tonight (7.45pm) will be a chance to put some things right from the weekend.
The Terras lost 3-1 away to Hitchin Town on Saturday in a run of four consecutive losses that has seen them exit the FA Trophy and the Dorset Senior Cup.
Maitland said: “They are doing well in the league below and it’s probably a good chance to put some of the things right from the weekend and look at one or two things again.”
Totton are currently eighth in the Evo-Stik South & West League with 20 points but have three losses in their past five games.
Maitland said: “Hopefully the team can go about putting on a better performance than we have done over the last couple of games and we can look to make a couple of positive steps going to Kings Langley on Saturday.”
There are no new injuries although Maitland confirmed that one or two players suffered knocks on Saturday.
Maitland confirmed the squad has been called in and the Terras will make some, but not wholesale, changes to the team that lost to Hitchin.
Ashley Wells is available for contention after missing Saturday’s match due to personal reasons while Calvin Brooks and Brandon Goodship remain injured but one or two young players will be called into the squad.
Maitland expects Mark Cooper and Abdulai Baggie to be involved in some sort of capacity against Totton.
Maitland added: “With Abdulai, he is building back up his match fitness and we expect him to play some part in the game again.
“Cooper was out injured and missed a couple of weeks. He again is rebuilding his fitness, he’s still playing catch up from the summer.”
The Terras’ next match will be on Saturday for a Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division clash at home to Kings Langley, who are currently 21st in the league with 11 points.
