Dear supporters
After a board meeting on Sunday Alan Pepperell was voted in as Chairman of Weymouth Football Club Ltd. He is looking forward to leading the club through this second half of the season and to what we all hope will be a successful end to the 2017/18 season. We thank Rob Bowman for stepping in as chairman of the club on a short term basis. Rob stressed that he was only going to take on the role for a matter of days and Rob will continue to do his amazing work for the club.
The decision to cancel this evening’s Player Development event was not taken lightly and the evening will be arranged for a later date.
We will continue to endeavour to do all we can to support our amazing youth team setup, from all ages. This includes, players, coaches, organisers, parents and secretaries and anyone else that I might have accidentally missed. Our under 16’s team lost their first match since 2016 on Sunday! What an incredible unbeaten run! Also, we will continue to support our website, media and communications team who have achieved great success statistically in taking our communications to the next level. We will also continue to back our volunteers, the majority of whom are avid Weymouth supporters. The fact is, we are all volunteers and we are all doing it for one main reason, our love for the club! You all put in so much time, energy and effort. We are genuinely nothing without you.
The first team are in a great league position and have important league games coming up, so please continue your great support of our wonderful club and together we can make a real difference and take this football club forward.
An AGM will be held on Sunday 11th February at 11am at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Alan Pepperell
Acting Weymouth FC Chairman
