WFC Youth Chairman, Paul Tapper is delighted with how Weymouth Football Club’s youth setup is progressing.
It’s been a fantastic season from start to finish. The interest in the youth section at the club has grown phenomenally throughout the year. All our teams have been successful this season and praise goes to the players and the managers for the work and the effort that has been put in.
The most important aspect of youth football is the enjoyment and our players enjoy their football with their friends which is fantastic. It’s not all about the trophies and titles, it’s about getting as many players as possible to enjoy themselves and that has always been our fundamental philosophy.
The integration back into the parent club has been an important step. Weymouth Football Club has been extremely supportive of us from helping with the kits, to helping organise our tournament and giving the youth players the opportunity to play at the stadium and be mascots and flag bearers. There is a really good feeling around the club as a whole.
Remember it’s the WFC Youth Tournament this weekend, starting tomorrow at 9am-6pm. Any help on either of the days will be immensely appreciated.
