Stephane Zubar insists that despite the disappointing manner of last weekend’s defeat, the Terras have to move on and turn their attention to the Banbury United fixture this weekend.
Weymouth’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end last Saturday when a frustrating second-half for the Terras saw them squander a 3-1 lead at Farnborough.
Despite the defeat Weymouth still remain top of the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier South on goal difference.
Stephane Zubar, who doubled his goal tally for the season, admitted that he felt Weymouth didn’t deserve to win based on their second half performance.
“We are all disappointed with the defeat, we were winning 3-1 and the way we played in the second half I don’t think we deserved to win. We just have to learn from it, we are all disappointed but that’s football, it’s happened and we just have to move on.
“Of course it’s disappointing because we were winning 3-1, but there was too many mistakes from us. We have to stay positive, we’re still top of the league and we’ll stick together whatever happens.
“We know if we focus on our football and play well we can win the league. But most important is every game, we have to make sure we try to win every game.”
The Terras now turn their attention to the Emirates FA Cup where they face Banbury United in the first qualifying round at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
“We’re just going to focus on the game on Saturday now and learn from the defeat,” added Zubar, “Saturday is important now, we have to show that we that it was a bad day and that’s it. We’ll stick together and move on and focus on Saturday. We’re training on Tuesday and Thursday, we’ll look at the goals we conceded and how we can improve for the next game.”
