CALLUM Buckley praised the quality of pre-season fixtures for Weymouth, as he looks ahead to the start of warm-up matches which begin three weeks tomorrow with a trip to Hamworthy United.
Since Buckley has been with Weymouth they have faced the likes of Yeovil Town, Exeter City and this year are set to host League One club Southend United.
Buckley said: “Pre-season since I’ve been here has been really good, we have had some really good fixtures.
“I think the first season we had Yeovil, that was one of my first games, that was a real good atmosphere, the second season we had Exeter, which was another good atmosphere.
“So I am sure there will be a good amount of fans at the Bob Lucas there which is really good because it really does prepare us for the season.
“Playing teams like that is always good for the boys, so I am looking forward to all of the pre-season games and getting back playing.”
The final home crowd of last season saw a mammoth 2,676 crammed into the Bob Lucas Stadium as the Terras secured entry to the National League South.
Buckley said: “It is brilliant to see that amount of fans.
“I think they have been through a bit of a tough time over the few years, so it is good to get some memories out of it and go into what will be a very tough league this year, the National League South, with some real good sides in there.
“But we are all excited about it, I’m sure the fans are and hopefully we can do well.”
