Four games in, two wins, two draws, eight points from a possible twelve. It’s been a start that Terras fans will be pleased with. On Saturday, The Terras face Dartford at the Bob Lucas Stadium in what will be the fifth game of the Vanarama National League South season. Although Weymouth will be more than happy with a very good start to the season, one can’t help but think it actually could be even better. On the whole, Mark Molesley’s men will feel as though they deserved all three points at Slough on Tuesday. Had big decisions gone Weymouth’s way and a couple of chances taken, they would have almost certainly returned to Dorset with another win. Saying all that, it’s still a very pleasing and unbeaten start.

The league table isn’t really something to take too seriously at this stage of the season, and obviously, nothing is won or lost in August! However, Weymouth sit just two points off top spot which is currently occupied by Bath City, scary I know. They will be going into this game full of confidence after wins against fancied teams Maidstone United and Chelmsford City and draws against Bath City and Slough Town.

Tomorrow’s visitors have started the season with two defeats and two draws. On Monday night, Dartford lost 4-0 away at Chelmsford with four second-half goals condemning them to a defeat. They picked up points with a 1-1 draw at home to Havant, the same scoreline when they also shared the spoils at home to St Albans. Their opening day ended with a 4-1 defeat away at Wealdstone.

Terras Full Squad: Ward, Childs, Rees, Wells, Harfield, Zubar, Buckley, Brooks, Rose, Wakefield, Ngalo, McCarthy, Baggie, Murray, Odubade, Robinson, Hoey, Thomson, McQuoid, Williams

Thoughts from the gaffer, Mark Molesley

“We have had a good start and there are plenty of positives. There’s also plenty to improve on, we’ll learn the lessons, move on and look forward to Dartford.”
