Weymouth take on Hungerford Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium as the Terras look to extend their run in the Vanarama National League South.

Mark Molesley’s team come into this one off the back of a hard-fought victory in the FA Trophy last weekend. Hastings United rocked up at the Bob Lucas Stadium and put in an impressive performance but Weymouth were too strong. They face a mouthwatering tie against Barnet next. Hastings United meanwhile won 12-3 in their league midweek game. That club is going places!

Weymouth have had some hard battles with Hungerford Town over recent years. Back in the Southern League days, there were always good clashes between the Terras and the Crusaders. Hungerford come into this game currently sitting inside the National League South relegation places, a place above bottom side St Albans City. Weymouth are ten unbeaten and sit 4th inside the play-off places, 6 points below leaders Wealdstone.

Hungerford’s recent results have been hit and miss. They picked up a brilliant 3-0 win away at Braintree at the start of the month, however, in their most recent league game, they had a 1-0 home defeat to Eastbourne Borough. They were beaten 2-1 in the FA Trophy at the hands of Chelmsford last weekend.

Thoughts from the Manager

“They’re certainly a side we’re very wary of, we’ve done our due diligence on them and we’ll be working hard to put on our best performance because we’re going to need it. In this league, you have to be at your very best to get anything. We don’t look into league positions – we watch the games and assess them from there. I’ve been impressed quite a bit from them.”
