Match Preview
Weymouth take on Oxford City tomorrow at the Bob Lucas Stadium in their final game of 2019.
Weymouth come into this game having been defeated in their last two league games. Last Saturday St Albans City went home with a 1-0 win on what was a rare disappointing day from the Terras usual high standards. The Boxing Day game at Havant was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning there has been a full week without a fixture.
Oxford come into this game with less than 48 hours preparation after they picked up a 3-2 win over Hungerford Town. The Hoops have had an upturn of form since The Terras visited Marsh Road back in September. This has coincided with a change of manager. They do arrive at the Bob Lucas Stadium with a bit of mixed form and sit in 13th position in the table.
Weymouth will add the services of Tom Whelan to their ranks ahead of this game. The midfielder comes in on loan from Yeovil Town after impressing in last seasons Southern League campaign for Salisbury.
Thoughts from the Manager
“After days like last Saturday you want to get back on the pitch again to put things right. I’m sure the players are hurting like I am now, and we need to react. What I can say is that I feel we’ve got a great group of players.”
