Louis Langdown brings a wealth of experience to the Terras backroom team having been on the first-team coaching staff working in the Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One and Two. A former head of sports science at Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth, Louis also enjoyed spells in the professional game with Southampton and Portsmouth FC, before a career change and exit from full-time football in 2015. This then followed a 3-year spell as manager of Southern League side AFC Totton.
Louis holds a master of science in biomechanics, the FA’s Fitness Trainers award and is a UEFA B licenced coach. Louis spoke of his excitement at joining the Terras.
Langdown commented, “It was an easy decision to agree to become Brian’s assistant manager. The players, staff and board of directors have done wonderfully well to offer the supporters National League Football and it’s this huge challenge of competing against established clubs that whets my appetite.
“Brian is a very driven and knowledgeable football person and we share the same vision of how we like to train and play. I must say we have some very good people in the backroom team and I’m thrilled to help support their work in preparing the players as best we can. Sure it’s going to be a tough campaign but we have a great group to work with”.
With Louis’ announcement, we can also officially welcome Thomas Curtis-Bennett as assistant to Ben Hayes in our physiotherapy department, Tom arrives from Poole Town. Louis and Tom join the existing backroom team consisting of Goalkeeping Coach Robbie Yates, Head Analyst Danny Webb, physiotherapist Ben Hayes and assistant coach Sammy Lander.
