Weymouth saw off Bromley courtesy of two Andy Dallas goals in the first 10 minutes to win 2-1 at the Bob Lucas on Saturday; a game which saw three red cards handed out by referee Robert Ellis-Massey.

Brian Stock made two changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Boreham Wood on Tuesday night. Joan Luque and Calvin Brooks come in for Pierre Fonkeu and the injured Josh McQuoid.

Weymouth were looking sharp in the opening moments and took the lead in the third minute. Joan Luque played Andy Dallas through on goal. The in form striker was then brought to the ground by goalkeeper Mark Cousins, just as he was about to finish off the play. The referee awarded a penalty, converted by Dallas, who rifled the ball past Cousin’s into the keeper’s top left.

Just four minutes later Andy Dallas helped himself to a brace. Ollie Harfield’s daring ball from the left wing was latched onto by Dallas in the area. The striker poked the ball in at the near post, his 4th goal in as many games for the Terras

Weymouth were mounting pressure for a third. The link up play between Luque and Dallas almost paid dividends again when the two interchanged for a 1-2 pass. Dallas found space again put could only force a corner.

Luque, dominating the midfield play, made some space for himself in the centre following a flying run in field from Ollie Harfield. The Spaniard leaned back before unleashing the shot which made the ball fly over Cousin’s bar.

Bromley then started to build an attack in the 29th minute. Taylor Maloney touched the ball into the feet of Michael Cheek. Bromley’s number 9 fired a shot first time just to the right of Ethan Ross. The Terras keeper did well to get down in time and kept the ball out of his net with his right palm. The ball rolled back out

The pressure payed off for the away side in the 33rd minute, snatching a goal to give themselves hope for a comeback. Chris Bush produced a “set-piece long throw in” deep into the crowded area which was then tapped into Ethan Ross’ goal by Bromley right back Joe Kizzi.

Weymouth got close to establishing another 2 goal lead just minutes later. Andy Dallas back heeled the ball to an onrushing Ollie Harfield. The left back flashed a ball into the area. The ball fortuitously hit the back of Luque’s leg yards from goal. The ball looked certain to go in, but Cousin’s scrambled across to deny a third Weymouth goal.

Bromley’s long throw ins were proving dangerous but they could not get back into the lead before the half time whistle. Chris Bush cementing this with a rash shot from 35 yards out, which blazed past Ross’ right post.
They had a last ditch chance following a Taylor Maloney set piece into the area deep into added time. Calvin Brooks headed the ball backward and the ball brushed the cross bar. A second chance was cleared well to deny.

After half time Weymouth were being put under the cosh by the away side. The Terras were struggling to clear the ball in the area and Jack Bridge curled a low shot which forced Ross to palm the ball away.

The Ravens gave themselves an uphill struggle in the 55th minute. Long Throw In taker Michael Bush saw red for 2 yellow cards in the space of 2 minutes due to dangerous tackles.

Weymouth almost doubled the lead as a result of a corner. Brennan Camp rose but could only steer the header wide of Cousin’s right post, despite having an open header.

In the 64th minute Bromley came close again to drawing level despite being a man down. Maloney squared the ball to Cheek from the right. The striker took a shot on but it was blocked by Dominic Revan to deny danger.

Bromley were getting frustrated and as a result of which they went down to 9 men in the 79th minute. Charlie Wakefield reacted rashly due to a challenge from Brennan Camp which the referee deemed a straight red card.

With the 2 man advantage, Weymouth came close to going 2 goals clear in the 87th minute. A counter attack allowed Weymouth to get players behind the ball. Sean Shields played it to his left to find a determined Ollie Harfield. The left back travelled freely into the area and attempted a shot across goal but Cousins parried the chance away.

The game was erupting into a frenzy which saw Jordan Ngalo receive a second yellow on the 90th minute mark to put the Terras down to 10 men, setting up a tense final 5 minutes of added time.

Weymouth stuck to their plan, seeing the ball into the corner as much as possible eating up the final moments to get them over the line.

The referee blew for full time, the score 2-1, with the Terras climbing out of the relegation zone. They welcome Boreham Wood on Tuesday night.
