Preview: Alfie Lumb

The Terras kick off back-to-back away games with a trip to Huish Park to take on rivals Yeovil Town. The fixture will be Weymouth’s first competitive away game in over 20 years against today’s opponents.

Brian Stock’s side are unbeaten in their last two games, defeating Bromley 2-1 before being held to a goalless draw by Solihull Moors.

Yeovil go into the game in 17th place, 5 points above Weymouth, picking up 6 points in their last 5 games. Their last game, a 2-1 away defeat to 3rd placed Hartlepool United. Joe Quigley has been amongst the goals for the Glovers, bagging 7 so far this season. Albanian midfielder Albi Skendi has 5 goals to his name.

The Terras were thwarted 3-0 at the Bob Lucas Stadium back in January. A lacklustre first half saw Yeovil do early damage to the Terras before Jake McCarthy’s straight red to give away a late penalty summed up the performance. Both Quigley and Skendi were on target that night, the former, dispatching the penalty.

Despite the fact neither side look likely to be relegated due to Steps below the National League declaring a Null and Void Season, the tie still has the feel of a “6 pointer.” Brian Stock and his side will be looking for revenge from their last meeting out. In the 7 games since the sides last faced each other, the Terras have picked up 10 points. This game will be the biggest test for the Terras since their improved form, with eyes on this.

Thoughts from the Manager

Speaking after the Solihull Moors game Stock said “I’ve always taken one game at a time, but I’ve had an eye on this game for quite some time.” The Terras boss continued “Our home performance was unacceptable against them and we’ve been looking to rectify that and put in a solid performance, go there and get a result. We’ll be ready for Tuesday.”
