The Terras are on the road for a second game in a row, by travelling to Victoria Road, home of Dagenham and Redbridge, on Tuesday night.

Brian Stock’s side remain in 20th place following their 2-0 defeat on Saturday to 4th placed Wrexham. The Terras kept the game level up to the break but came undone in the second half. The Terras were victorious against higher positioned opposition in their game prior to this, thwarting Stockport County 1-0 courtesy of an Andy Dallas goal.

The last time the sides met was back in December. Josh McQuoid put the Terras ahead early on before 2 goals in the space of a minute from the visitors turned the game on its head. Josh Wakefield receiving a red card before half time made a comeback even harder. Things got worse for the Terras as they conceded a penalty in the 70th minute, converted by Paul McCallum. Jake McCarthy’s goal seven minutes from time gave the Terras some hope of drawing level however Dagenham and Redbridge closed the game out well to take 3 points back to London.

The Daggers are having a mixed season, currently sitting in 16th place but they have not lost in their last three games. Tuesday will be the London based sides 3rd home game in a row, with their last game, a 2-1 win against Maidenhead United. McCallum scored both of the Daggers goals that game. The ex Hearts and Portsmouth player also provided the only goal in the Daggers win against Solihull Moors earlier this month. Dagenham will have new signing Mauro Vilhete available. The versatile Portuguese born player featured just under 200 times for Barnet.

Whilst the Terras needn’t worry about the perils of relegation for the remainder of the season, it is important to close the campaign out by building momentum. Stock can look at this as an opportunity to improve away form and banish the demons of the reverse fixture, especially with the progress made this season.

Thoughts from the Manager

Before the game, a reflecting Brian Stock spoke of the positives from Saturday’s game and how his side can use that for Tuesday’s clash; “Another tough test with Dagenham. It’s important that we dust ourselves down and remember the positives from the first half against Wrexham.”

Stock continued saying “We need to make sure we apply that over the 90 minutes and if we do that I am confident that we will get the performance and result we want.”

“It’s not going to be easy against a team showing tremendous home form over the last 6 games.”
