Weymouth Football Club are pleased to announce that Paul Maitland has been elected as Vice-Chairman.

The club face a very difficult task off the field in catching up with the on-field success of the last 3 seasons. There is a massive opportunity to enable it to establish itself in the National League. Paul will use his enthusiasm and drive to push the club forward and has been working closely on a variety of projects with recently appointed former player, club captain and legend John Waldock to enable this to happen.

Club Chairman Ian White commented, “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Paul on board. He has proved a valuable asset to the board over the last few years, as a businessman together with his football knowledge will enhance the business side of the club. This will be absolutely fundamental if the club is to progress from its current position.”

The new Vice-Chairman said, “I would like to thank the board for the opportunity and the trust that they have shown me. Having been at the club for nearly ten years now I have enjoyed some unbelievable highs as well as lows, but these events have all given me valuable experience which I hope will benefit Weymouth both on and off the pitch.

“It has been brilliant working alongside John Waldock the last few weeks and his freshness has been a real boost to both the club and myself. I would also like to put on record my thanks to my predecessor Rob Bowman for his sterling work and unforgettable contributions to Weymouth FC.

“I think I speak on behalf of us all when I say we look forward to welcoming you home for what will be an exciting 2021-2022 season”.
