Despite the Terras having achieved a league finish outside the relegation zone, Brian Stock said that his side will be intending to try and spoil the party in the upcoming trips to Notts County and Hartlepool.

Hartlepool United currently sit 4th in the league, whilst Notts County, who have found some form recently, sit a place behind in 5th; both sides will be trying to finish as high as possible to give themselves the advantage in the National League playoffs.

Speaking to uptheterras.co.uk Stock said, “(Going up there to try and spoilt the party) was my message to the players. I think they can walk out with their heads held high; we’ve asked a lot from them lately.

“It’s been very challenging for one or two of them with a small squad where we’ve had to furlough quite a few players. There are a few tired legs but what an opportunity, we’re going to go away to Notts County who are a massive club in this league, and Hartlepool is the same.

“They’re both challenging at the top end of the table and I’m sure the teams around them would like us to cause an upset, and so do we!”

Stock went on to praise the recent performances of his side, despite not getting the results he would have hoped for, he believes his side are showing they are able to compete at the National League level.

“I think that our recent performances, maybe not over the course of 90 minutes, but we are showing signs of being a really good team and we’re not far away,” he continued.

“We’ve got an opportunity now to go to a nice stadium with a nice pitch and showcase what we can achieve. If our performances are to the levels which I have seen recently then I’ll be pleased.”
