Weymouth Football Club can confirm that club Captain Josh McQuoid has signed an extension with the Terras.

McQuoid had an impressive season, often playing in a more central midfield position, and was named as Managers Player of The Season by Brian Stock.

On announcing the contract extension Brian Stock said, “Josh fully deserved my player of the year and I’m delighted to secure him for another year.

“His versatility is extremely important to us, he was used in a number of positions last season. He’s traditionally played as a winger or number 10 in the past but I was impressed with his performances in central midfield.

“You look for a captain to lead from the front, even when things aren’t necessarily going well, and he’s done that.

“Right across the season he’s been consistent, he plays with 110% and when he’s not in the side the team certainly miss him.”

The former Northern Ireland international signed for the Terras in August 2018 and made his debut away to Harrow Borough and scored his first goals for the club in a 5-0 victory at home to Dorchester Town in August 2018.

In total he has made 71 appearances and scored 19 goals in his 3 seasons at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
