Weymouth FC are delighted to announce that Sean Shields has signed an extension to remain at The Bob Lucas Stadium for the next 2 seasons.
The Players’ Player of the Season joined the club in October 2020 and has played 35 times for The Terras in his first season, scoring 5 goals and contributing 14 assists.
Brian Stock told uptheterras.co.uk, “To be able to secure a player of his quality in the first place was a real bonus for us. To secure him for the next 2 years is a remarkable achievement for this football club and it shows you how far this club has come.
“Shieldsy has had a fantastic season. He’s got 14 assists and 5 goals and his contribution on and off the pitch has been huge. When you look at the GPS data we receive after every single game and training session he’ll be at the top. That just epitomises his work ethic and his attitude.
“He’s here for the next 2 years and it’ll give us that consistency alongside Ollie Harfield down the left-hand side and hopefully that’ll be a real point of attack and strength of ours.”
