Duncan Gardner shares his latest edition of Facts of the Match ahead of this afternoon’s match with Hemel Hempstead Town.

Not quite a bogeyteam for us but certainly a team we have not always enjoyed facing as we only have a W4 D2 L5 record against the Tudors.

Our last encounter was Matchday 7 of this very season when the Tudors trekked south-west and returned home with a point courtesy of a 0-0 draw. Ironically the one other match at home against a Hertfordshire team this season also ended in a bore-draw, v Cheshunt in December.

This weekend, we will hope to end a 7-game winless streak against teams from the county – our last win actually notched at the Vauxhall Road ground in 2020 in a National League South fixture. On that occasion, Hemel lofted the ball into their own net in the 87th minute from a Wakefield cross for the only goal of the game. That result placed us third in the National League South, a position we were able to maintain until the end of the pandemic-truncated season in March before the famous successful playoff run!

The stellar list of known players who have turned out for both teams today is Narada Barnard, Nathan Carlyle, Pierre Fonkeu, Jordan Greenidge, Nahum Melvin-Lambert, Taofiq Olomowewe, Josh Oyinsan, Jordan Rose, Sean Shields.

In events on this day – we can wish Dr. Adam Kelly a happy 35th birthday! Adam played for the Terras back in the mid-2010’s before he was an academic doctor.
