Starting team for the Terras:
Benfield, Howe, Cheshire, Thompson, Hamblin, O’Connell, Hemmings, Bearwish, Rollinson, Goodship, Roberts
The Terras started the match at a fast pace, boasting a plethora of good chances in the first ten minutes.
However it was on the nineteenth minute where the Terras opened the scoring, courtesy of a Tom Bearwish header!
The Terras went on to double their lead in the thirty seventh minute. This time it was Brandon Goodship who netted his first goal since his return to the club. Dan Roberts created the goal through some excellent work to win the ball back, Dan eventually crossing for Brandon Goodship to volley home for the Terras!
And Goodship wasn’t done there, doubling his tally just moments before half time, Roberts again combining well with Brandon as the ball was squared across goal leaving Goodship with a simple finish.
At half time the Terras returned to the dressing room three goals to the good.
Team for the second half:
Benfield, Thompson, Cheshire, C.Brooks, Hamblin, Rees, McQuoid, Goodship, O’Connell, Rollinson, Roberts
In the fifty fourth minute Keelan O’Connell was superbly denied by the Saints ‘keeper. Keelan had been set through from Dan Roberts, whose link up play was excellent all game, however Keelan just couldn’t slot past the ‘keeper.
With just over an hour gone, on came Rowan, Monk and Wabo. Replacing Cheshire, Roberts and O’Connell
It would be less than ten minutes after that when Joel Rollinson intercepted a loose pass at the back and slotted home into the corner.
The FIVE STAR performance was complete in the eighty first minute, where our signature high press meant we were able to win the ball back by the Saints corner flag. From there it was squared across goal to Wabo, who turned and fired one in off the post!
All in all a mightily impressive performance against a highly rated Southampton B side.
We now will look to maintain our one hundred percent record at home so far this pre season, as we welcome Reading on Saturday!
