I’m very happy to continue my journey here.

Weymouth is a great place to be. We have a great ground full of good people, and with Mark becoming the new gaffer near the end of last season, it will be exciting to play football under him. I think it will be something the fans will want to see. Hopefully we get the results we want, too.

I’m really, really excited to get going again.

It’s not just me who feels this way, everyone does. This is the first pre-season in a few years that I’m genuinely looking forward to. To me, that says everything.

We’ve kept the spine of the team from last season, too.

There’s not many more players that we have to add, which is very important. This squad, essentially, is just a great bunch of lads who I love to be around.

I’m hoping this season will be a different one.

I wasn’t quite myself last campaign for various reasons. But, I think the football we bring will be more exciting for the fans this time round. As I’ve already said, I think they will be pleased with what we will show them. The more fans at the games, the better, and the key way we can do this is by exciting them. That’s what we want to do, and should be doing. We just hope everyone gets behind us.

There were still some highlights from last season.

My last-minute winner when we were at home to Hemel Hempstead. With moments such as these, it’s about the buzz it gives to everyone at the club. It’s why we play football, because of things like that. I think people were even more happy for me than I was when I scored!

Everyone at the club wants the same thing.

Not just to win games, but to make sure we win them the ‘right’ way. For me, that’s the main thing. There’s no more that needs to be said than that.

This is a really exciting time to be part of the club.

As you can see, everyone is upping their game. It feels like a proper club at the moment. Even with just the smiles that are on everyone’s faces, there’s a lot of things that show the type of characters that are here.

The most important thing I do is just enjoy my football.

I haven’t done that for a little while, but, with the new management coming in, I’ve been able to get my smile back. That’s what I’m really looking forward to next season; just being on the pitch and smiling again.

Conversations between myself and Mark have all been positive.

We’re both on the same page, as all the other players are. We want to play good football and get the results. As long as we all buy into what the coaching staff say, things will be really positive.

Here’s my message to the fans:

Look forward to the exciting football that we will play next season. We can’t wait to bring joy to you all, and get as many points as we can.
