A message from our Chairman:
‘An agreement has been reached between Poole Town and Weymouth that will see Ezio join Poole permanently.
Ezio has become a huge fan favourite during his time with us and leaves us all with some great memories of his time here both on and off the pitch. We wish Ezio nothing but success for the future and thank him for his contribution to Weymouth.
Sometimes in football, you have to make difficult decisions that from the outside don’t always make sense, but at times you have to do what’s best for the player and the club.
On that note, as we say goodbye to Ezio it gives us great pleasure to welcome home double promotion-winning Captain Jake McCarthy who comes in the opposition direction as part of the deal. Jake needs no introduction and brings with him some much-needed goal threat from midfield. Jake will not only be here for the remainder of this season but also next season as well.
When the opportunity came up to bring Jake back to the Bob Lucas it was one we couldn’t turn down. Subject to FA Approval Jake will be available for tomorrow’s game with St Albans.
