WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley spoke out about the good causes behind the Terras’ Legends match against Bournemouth, which will see Molesley line-up for the Cherries at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Sunday (3pm).
Molesley, who played for Bournemouth for more than five years and currently works for the club, will be among those playing in the red and black.
Molesley does not know how long he will play for Bournemouth during the match, which will feature current Bournemouth assistant-manager and former Terras’ boss Jason Tindall playing.
Molesley said: “I was at Bournemouth for over five years, I work at the club and it is very close to my heart but it is all for a good cause so that is the reason I am donning the boots.
“One it is for a good cause and two it is to a good community initiative as well.”
The event is to help support the Weldmar Hospice Care Trust that provides end of life care for people in Dorset.
Molesley said: “It is for a fantastic cause and hopefully it will be a great occasion for the club, welcoming back their old heroes from yesteryear and celebrate all that is great about Weymouth.
“I really hope the crowd all come out and see and support that to see their heroes and support a fantastic cause.
“It is shaping up to be a good day, we have got plenty going on so hopefully the community really get behind it and come out and see us.”
Molesley hopes the community can come out and see their heroes from the past, which will feature Garry Hill as manager, alongside Jason Matthews, Ian Hutchinson and Shaun Wilkinson among many others.
As part of the event, which aims to be a family fun day, there will be an inflatable football pitch, giant Jenga, speed striker, reaction board and a bouncy castle.
Weymouth are set to host Bath City in their latest pre-season match tomorrow at the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm)
The friendly will see the Terras aim to earn their second win of the pre-season so far.
They beat Kingstonian 3-1 but have suffered defeats to Bournemouth under-23s and Exeter City while they drew 2-2 at Hamworthy United in their last match.
The matches are part of a hectic schedule for the Terras as they also travel to Portsmouth for another friendly on Tuesday evening against Moneyfields (7.45pm).
