JASON Matthews is targeting five wins from the Terras’ remaining six league fixtures, as Weymouth look to keep their play-off hopes alive.
A vital encounter against a rejuvenated Frome Town side at the Bob Lucas Stadium awaits the Terras tomorrow (3pm), in a contest their player-boss has labelled as “must-win”.
Matthews is hopeful that ex-Robins’ striker Ben Thomson will be available after a hamstring injury, Chris Shephard is set to undergo a late fitness test on his back.
“We definitely need five wins out of six. It’s a tall ask but, as I keep saying, we need to get on a run,” Matthews told Echosport.
“Saturday is a must-win game.
“Frome are a much-improved team and we have had some knocks and bruises this week, but we will go into it and I always say to the boys to be positive, that’s what we will do.
“They (Matthews’ players) just need to go out and play their game because they have got nothing to lose.”
On the potential return of Thomson and Shephard, Matthews added: “It’s a massive boost, they have probably been our two standout players this year with Dean Evans.”
Frome, who included ex-Terra Chris McPhee in their squad for their 1-0 win against Paulton Rovers on Monday, are unbeaten in their last eight league games.
