TERRAS boss Mark Molesley said his side can only focus on putting in a good performance on Saturday as they welcome Hampton & Richmond Borough to the Bob Lucas Stadium in the MANarama National League South (3pm).
Weymouth dropped to fourth on Saturday without playing as their match was called off due to Billericay’s pitch being vandalised, however a win against Hampton could see them jump to second.
Molesley told Echosport: “The weather was bad down here, but I don’t think it was in London and it was a really bad act of vandalism.
“Nobody has won out of it. Billericay have got some damage to their pitch and we will have to go again on a Tuesday.
“It really was a shame. Whoever has got a problem with Billericay has affected as well, but it was out of our control.
“It is not great, but the benefit is, after a long away trip the Tuesday before, we got a good rest. Josh McGuoid and Stephane Zubar are nearing returns, so they got another week’s rest.
“That is the only positive to take out of it, hopefully we will be fresh and ready to go again.”
Weymouth are on a good run of form and haven’t lost in eight matches, most recently drawing 1-1 with Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday October 29.
Hampton, on the other hand, also won four of their last five matches but did lose on Tuesday night against Dartford.
Molesley continued: “We have been doing well and you want to keep that run going, you don’t want to break your stride.
“Hampton are probably one of the in-form teams of the past month and have had some good wins against good sides.
“We will give them the respect they deserve. They have done well in this league historically and are on a good run, so we have got to be fully aware of their threat but make sure we have the confidence to show what we are about.
“This squad is a hard-working, tight group. We are brave on the ball. This is the case. The message never changes. We want to live by our own morals and values and try our best to execute our game plan.”
Speaking about his team potentially moving to second in the table, Molesley said: “We don’t tend to think about these things.
“The league table is hard to keep away from. It is on Sky Sports every day but at the end of the day we have to be clear on our own process.
“What will be will be. All we can focus on is trying to put in a good performance on Saturday.”
