WEYMOUTH assistant-manager Tom Prodomo says the Terras are “fuelled” by their title-winning campaign last season.
Mark Molesley’s men have stormed up the Vanarama National South league table this year, losing no momentum from the step up.
Some of the division’s more established sides may have been surprised by the impact the Terras have had in the league this year, but Prodomo says the club deserves to be in the playoff spots.
He said: “We are fuelled by last year’s success because we know from that if we put the work we get the rewards at the end of the season.
“I think if anything our boys always want more and the players would tell you they always want more. They would talk more about the points we haven’t won this year rather than the ones we have managed to get.
“It doesn’t matter if we were top, they would want to be top by more points. They always want to improve and be better, that’s the mentality.
Asked what the secret was to the Terras’ success this year, Prodomo added: “I think there’s no secret to it, the players and the staff work incredibly hard.
“Every week we try to maximise our time we have with the boys whether that’s on the training pitch or on the coach travelling to and from games.
“I think if you look across the time since the manager joined the club the work ethic has always been there.”
Weymouth face Hampton & Richmond Brough on Saturday (3pm).
