Match Preview: Stockport County
The Terras travel to Greater Manchester for the second time this season as they take on Stockport County for the first time in their history.
Weymouth will visit Edgeley Park and it’s games like this and stadiums like this that makes it all the more painful that fans aren’t currently allowed at “elite” level games. In “normal” times, this would be a day out to pencil in for the claret and blue army.
Brian Stock’s team come into this clash off the back of a good performance at Bromley, despite going down to a narrow 3-2 defeat. Weymouth will go into the game encouraged by that performance after a poor display against Oxford City in the FA Cup last weekend. Stock will hope to have Shamir Mullings available after injury, meanwhile, Myles Anderson has moved on loan to Vanarama National League South side, Hampton and Richmond.
Views from the Manager – Brian Stock
“It’s all very well going there for these experiences, but we want to go there and experience a positive result. I don’t want to go there and be bystanders, spectators, however you want to say it. We go there to try and win the game of football. There are going to be some attractive grounds to play at this year. Stockport will be one of them. In order for us to get a result we’re going to have to call upon everything that was positive from Tuesday against Bromley.”
Stockport County
The hosts come into this game sitting pretty in second position in the league table in these early stages. They boast the leagues current joint top scorer in prolific marksman, John Rooney. Most recently they played out a 0-0 home draw with Solihull Moors.
