Daniel Howell: Andy thanks for joining us for a chat. You’ve now extended your stay with the Terras until the end of April, what made you decide to remain at the Bob Lucas?
Andy Dallas: It’s been an easy decision for me since I had conversations with the gaffer about extending. Since I’ve came in everyone at the club has been brilliant with me and I’ve enjoyed getting an extended run of game time which I have needed for the last year or so to develop me as a player and person.
Daniel Howell: When Brian made the initial enquiry to bring you to Weymouth, what made you decide here was the place for you?
Andy Dallas: I enjoyed a few days training before I initially signed on loan and it felt right at the time in my gut after meeting the boys and manager etc. I have felt for a while I needed given a chance to play every week in someone’s first team and trusted Brian to provide this for me and have tried to return his trust with my performances on the pitch.
Daniel Howell: When you arrived Weymouth were in the relegation zone, what has it been like trying to settle into the squad and make an immediate impact?
Andy Dallas: It has been made a bit easier as I have been sharing the house with Dom (Revan), Ethan (Ross), Jacob (Mensah), Luque, and Sheildsy who are all relatively new to the club too. I know that at any club you have to make an immediate impression in training/matches and try earn the trust and respect of everyone early on. The results have helped as since me and the boys have came in there has been a right good mood in the camp and sometimes it shows on the pitch playing with confidence which is a massive part of football in general.
Daniel Howell: Having come from Cambridge United to the Terras, do you feel the experience you gained playing at a higher level will help the squad?
Andy Dallas: I try to give my input as much as I can but I am still one of the younger players in the group and that’s where I am learning in this loan to be able to voice my opinion in the right way.
Daniel Howell: With four goals so far in a Terras shirt, are you pleased with how your loan spell has gone so far?
Andy Dallas: I’m happy with the goals return in 5 games but also feel I have contributed outside scoring and that I have been an option for the team and trying to cause opposition defences as much problems as I can. I seen the gaffer saying in an interview I play as if I have a ‘point to prove’ and I still feel like that and can’t see me not having that when I am on the pitch always wanting more from myself.
Daniel Howell: After the Terras defeat at Boreham Wood, did anything change to ensure you got back to winning ways against Bromley?
Andy Dallas: We still felt like the game was ours to win in the Boreham Wood game but we got punished from not being clinical in both boxes which is classic football. Having thought we deserved more from that game we were eager to pick up points and it was great we were able to do so at home.
Daniel Howell: We have some important fixtures in the next couple of weeks, including trips to Yeovil and Kings Lynn, what’s it like on the changing room as you approach these fixtures?
Andy Dallas: I know it’s the classic answer but every game has been big since I’ve came in for me I’ve had no problems finding motivation and I’m sure I speak for the lads too. These are the games you want to be involved in when the pressure is turned up for both teams. I don’t see why we wouldn’t be fully confident going into this next run of games off the back of some good results there. I also know how huge the Derby is down here and for the fans you can make memories that last a lifetime.
