Calling all local football fans, we will be hosting the Ashley Wells Testimonial game on Friday 5th May, with a 19:30 kick off. The game will feature many past Weymouth and Dorchester players as well as more current players. Tickets are available online via the Club’s ticket office and will be available on the day. A limited number of tickets are available which include entrance to the after-match party in the bar, with local band Slight Return playing until late.
Paul Maitland had this to say about the evening:
‘This promises to be a very special evening to finally give Ash the send off he deserves after so many years of service. Having spent his younger years on the terraces, he fulfilled his ambitions of playing for his home town club which should be every local player’s ambition. The significance of this game has risen since Ash suffered injury at the weekend and had to be stretched off, a stark reminder that careers can be impacted at any moment”
When asked about the evening, Ash commented:
“Looking forward to this night hoping to see as many of you as I can. Having spent 10 years here it would be amazing to get to say a proper goodbye to all of you and to enjoy one last proper old school derby”
