On how he reacted to Tuesday’s win:
It was important to get the win. I was disappointed last Saturday, but the players bounced back, which was the most important thing. Getting the three points showed our character.
On what was said to the players at halftime:
I just told them to keep going. I knew there would be periods where the hosts would enjoy spells but we just needed to sustain pressure. We dug in and helped each other, and wins like this can help kickstart a season.
On injury updates:
It’s a difficult situation. Tom Bearwish and Matty Burrows are on the treatment table, and we’re just giving them every chance possible to see if they’re fit for Saturday.
On how pleased he was seeing the players respond from Saturday:
We knew it would be a difficult game. Plymouth Parkway would have wanted a reaction at home after losing to Walton & Hersham, but we started the game really well. I was really pleased with the win.
On the importance of a good defence:
As is often said in football, attack wins you games but defence wins you titles. I was really pleased our defenders got a clean sheet. Now, the challenge will be to back it up.
On tomorrow’s game:
It will be a tough game. I tip Sholing to be near the top of the table by the end of the season, they’re a good side with good players, but we need to be confident and hopefully we’ll get the right result.
On the importance of keeping momentum going from Tuesday:
We want to get as many points on the board as possible, and we can do that with good and competitive performances. The fans were outstanding on Tuesday. Hopefully we can repay their faith with another good win.
