Gerard Benfield

Goalkeeper Gerard Benfield returns to Weymouth FC, bringing experience, leadership and a wealth of quality between the posts as he begins another spell at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

A commanding and vocal goalkeeper, Gerard first joined the Terras in 2020 after successful spells with Hamworthy United, Wimborne Town and Salisbury. Since then, he has continued to establish himself as one of the South West’s most reliable goalkeepers, adding further experience during spells with Dorchester Town and Salisbury before making his return to claret and blue.

A popular figure with the Terras faithful, Gerard knows exactly what it means to represent Weymouth. His shot-stopping ability, calm presence under pressure and strong leadership make him an important addition to the squad, while his experience will prove invaluable both on and off the pitch.

Now reunited with the club under manager Jamie Wells, Gerard returns determined to help drive the Terras forward and play a key role in what promises to be an exciting new chapter for Weymouth Football Club.
