Oakley Hanger

A strong, dependable and versatile defender, Oakley Hanger joined Weymouth FC bringing a wealth of experience from across the Southern League and a strong connection to Dorset football.

Primarily a right-back but equally comfortable at centre-back or in a defensive midfield role, Oakley combines defensive resilience with composure in possession and a willingness to support attacks. His consistency, leadership and professionalism have earned him an excellent reputation throughout the local game.

Oakley began his senior career with Dorchester Town, making his first-team debut in 2014 before spending four years in the United States, where he combined his football with university studies. Returning to England, he re-established himself at Dorchester before enjoying a successful spell with Wimborne Town, helping the club to promotion to the Southern League Premier Division South. He then joined Poole Town for the 2024/25 campaign before making the move to the Bob Lucas Stadium.

A player who leads by example, Oakley’s determination, tactical awareness and reliability make him an important member of the Terras squad. Equally comfortable defending one-on-one or building play from the back, he brings both experience and composure to the side.

Now part of Jamie Wells’ squad, Oakley is determined to help drive Weymouth forward. His local roots, experience and commitment to the badge make him an excellent addition as the Terras continue to build for the future.
