Weymouth FC recently opened the gates of the Bob Lucas Stadium to host the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) for a specialized high-level training exercise.
The stadium’s massive floodlight pylons provided the perfect real-world environment for crews to hone their technical rope-rescue skills. Under the leadership of Watch Commander Heather and firefighter Scott, members of the White Watch executed complex climbing and rescue maneuvers high above the pitch.
Weymouth FC in the Community facilitated the session, offering full access to the stadium infrastructure to support the vital work of local emergency services.
“It was an absolute pleasure to host Watch Commander Heather, Scott, and the rest of the White Watch crew,” said a spokesperson for Weymouth FC in the Community. “Watching the team execute their rope-climbing work from the pitch was brilliant. They are a fantastic crew, and we are incredibly proud that our stadium facilities could assist them in maintaining their life-saving skills.”
