Terras back in league action
Weymouth return to league action and are back on their travels this weekend as they take on Stratford Town tomorrow at the MoodChimp Stadium (3pm).
Mark Molesley’s Terras make the trip up to the midlands, sitting nicely in fourth place in the Evo-Stik Southern League table, 8 points clear of fifth placed Tiverton Town. The Terras salvaged a point the last time they played Stratford at the start of the season; a late Jordan Rose leveller rescued a point on the day. Stratford come into this game after losing narrowly to Hereford in midweek, the Terras also suffered a defeat in their last outing after a much changed team were knocked out of the League Cup by Larkhall Athletic.
Assistant Manager Paul Maitland said he is looking forward to getting back to league action, “The league cup and the league are two separate competitions. The league cup does serve a purpose in terms of preparation for the all important league games and especially considering the league position we are in.”
“Stratford have been on a good run of form and they have aspirations of a top ten finish. They gave us a difficult game at our place. They had a tough game on Tuesday, a game that went right down to the wire, whereas we were able to rotate our squad, giving some players some much needed rest.”
“We had a good training session last night with some good preparation work and everyone is ready and raring to go.”
There are no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s contest. Steve Boore has moved to Portland United on dual registration on a week to week basis to get game time.
