A Jake McCarthy volley in the 92nd minute rescued a point for the Terras in East London, as they drew to Dagenham and Redbridge 1-1 on Tuesday night.

Dagenham were through in the second minute, Myles Weston played the ball in but the danger was cleared away by a Weymouth defender.

The Daggers were finding space on the right side within the first 10 minutes and Wilson was looking like a danger for the home side. He played the ball into Angelo Bolanta on the near post. The Colombians right footed effort was blocked by Jacob Mensah.

The home side were piling on the pressure and looked certain to score in the 14th minute. Bolanta carried the ball into the area with some nice footwork and stroked the ball to Wilson on the right. The striker rolled the ball around Weymouth defenders and Ethan Ross to shoot toward an open goal, however Ollie Harfield slid in to deny a certain goal, the ball clearing the crossbar.

Weymouth alleviated pressure by counter attacking on the right. Pierre Fonkeu held the ball up well before playing a neat ball to Brennan Camp. The right back won a corner when delivering the ball. The Terras then fashioned a chance from the next corner. Josh McQuoid played a pass into Jacob Mensah in the area. The centre back squared the ball across goal which managed to find Fonkeu. The winger was not allowed to shoot before a defender cleared the ball but only as far as Harfield outside the area. The left back tried a shot from range but the left footed attempt went wide.

Weymouth were getting a feel of the game and began to dominate the play. Andy Dallas had a shot from far out in the 28th minute but the in form forwards strike went over the bar.

Dallas got another chance 8 minutes later. Joan Luque’s long ball went out to the left which was met by an incoming Josh McQuoid. The Terras captain played in Dallas but again his effort was over.

A ball on the left 2 minutes later was played into the Weymouth striker but he could not connect in the right manner with his head to allow the shot on target.

Dagenham then went on the attack when Will Wright came in from the right. He then drilled a low shot with his left foot but Ross got down to his near post to make the save.

Liam Gordon put the Daggers ahead in the 42nd minute with a moment of individual brilliance. The Winger ran from the left inside the area and weaved his way into space to unleash a snatched shot with his weaker right foot. The ball curled past the gloves of Ross into the top left corner.

Dagenham were looking to keep pressing after half time. A nice string of passes led to Gordon playing Wilson inside the area who was running to meet the ball. His first shot was deflected by a Terras defender back into the path of the striker who blazed the ball over the bar.

Josh McQuoid was scythed down by Charlie Adams after the skipper cleared the ball. Adams received a yellow card but not without question by Terras players,

Dallas found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute. His chance was seen out but his second went over the cross bar.

Dagenham were utilising the left channel and Gordon was free down that side. The goal scorer cut in and squared the ball across the face of the goal before Andy Robinson read the game and cleared away the danger.

The Daggers had another chance moments later. Bolanta took the ball down from a set piece cleared with a header by Camp. The Colombian turned and produced a shot which was blocked. The ball bounced into the strikers path who snapped at a shot which was saved by Ross.

It was Weymouth’s turn to attack. Harfield played a long pass down the left which allowed Ben Thomson a chance to shoot. The substitute fired a shot with his left but miskicked his effort which went out for a throw in.

Dallas had another chance in the 79th minute. The striker had stormed into the area and his first shot was blocked. Dallas collected the ball again on the Dagenham byline and got another attempt away with his left foot before that was blocked by a sliding Daggers defender.

With 5 minutes to go the Terras were desperately searching for an equaliser. Dallas was again in the heart of the action and took the ball under control outside the Daggers area. His chance came but the striker could not turn the ball around the left side of the post, the ball curling wide.

The Terras drew level deep into injury time. A long ball fell into a crowded area. The danger was not cleared by Dagenham and Jake McCarthy fired home the shot on the volley just inside the area past the goalkeeper.

Liam Gordon ran up the other end following the restart and went one-on-one with Ross. The Terras goalkeeper came off of his line quick to parry away the danger.

With that the game was over and the lads travel back to the South Coast with a point from East London.
