Wimborne Town 0-2 Weymouth

Wimborne Town v Weymouth

Recap

Bradley Ash and Brandon Goodship netted for Weymouth as they cruised to a 2-0 victory against Wimborne at the new Cuthbury on Saturday afternoon.

The Terras started fast and dictated the play. Sean Shields received a ball from the left in the 14th minute and cut in before unleashing a shot from outside the area. However, the shot went straight into the hands of on-loan goalkeeper, Billy Terrell.

Weymouth took the lead in the 21st minute. A long, through pass, found Bradley Ash who struck the ball on the bounce, past Terrell’s right glove.

Shields was controlling the game and had three chances to score. A goal kick led to another effort as Omar Mussa tackled a Wimborne defender in a dangerous area. Mussa attempted a curved shot with his left which went just around the right post.

Twelve minutes into the second half, the Terras came close to doubling their lead. Substitute Brandon Goodship received the ball in midfield before threading a pass into Ash. The striker took on a shot from a tight angle but Terrell parried the ball away allowing Wimborne to clear their lines.

The Terras scored their second in the 68th minute. The ball was switched to Ash on the left who travelled into the area before squaring it across the box to Goodship. The substitute connected with the ball with his left to smash it into the net.

Weymouth had control of the game in the final minutes, with Tyler Cordley clearing the ball away in the area following great play from substitute Adwell Chipangura.
