WEYMOUTH’S Chris Shephard is on the road to recovery from another back problem that has halted his season once again.
After suffering with a muscular issue which caused his back to go into spasm around six weeks ago, the Terras’ playmaker has this time sought the help of a chiropractor for a different type of injury this time around.
Explaining the issue, Shephard, who could feature for Weymouth at home against Stratford Town on Saturday (3pm), told Echosport: “I got over the problem initially and went up for a header in training.
“As I came down I sort of landed on Yetts (Stewart Yetton) – we were practicing set-pieces and defending the box.
“I fell awkwardly and tweaked a joint at the bottom of my back.
“Fortunately for me I have gone to see a chiropractor and he has clicked me about and put me right. It’s a pretty simple problem to put right as well.”
Reflecting on the Terras’ 2-0 win over Redditch United on Saturday, Shephard, who was in attendance on the day, added: “I was delighted for the boys and we needed those three points. It’s only going to do me good if we are in the play-offs as well.
“I want to be out there playing as much as anybody else.
“I have kept my fitness levels up by doing some bike work and gym work so hopefully I can pick up from where I left off.”
