PAT Baldwin is expected to miss out on Weymouth’s away clash against Slough Town tomorrow (3pm), according to player-manager Jason Matthews.

The influential centre-half came off with a knee injury in the Terras’ midweek victory over Bideford and is likely to be ruled out when Weymouth bid to extend their hot league form this weekend.

Asked how his team were shaping up ahead of the clash against the Rebels, Matthews, who could use defender Jake Wannell in the heart of the defence, said: “Luke Winsper will probably come back into the squad but Pat Baldwin is going to have to drop out because he has fluid on the knee.

“He came off with it on Tuesday which was a bit of a blow.

“Jake (Wannell) is available now after illness, I think he is a fantastic player and I’d have no qualms with him playing in there.”

The Terras’ boss added: “I watched Slough against Hungerford on Monday, our next two sides.

“We are in good form but we have needed to be and this is another incredibly important game. For me it’s a must-win game really.

“We need to keep the pressure up on the sides above us and we can’t rest on our laurels.

“It’s in our hands as far as I’m concerned.

“If we keep winning we will make the play-offs and, on Saturday, we need to win.”
