STRIKER Stewart Yetton believes if the Terras continue playing two up front it will help them “get the ball in the right areas more”.
The former Plymouth Argyle and Truro City hitman found the net as part of a starting strike duo with Ben Thomson last week, in the 3-2 FA Cup second qualifying round victory over Gosport Borough.
And he believes the 4-4-2 shape the Terras adopted in that game is preferred by the strikers at the club.
Yetton, who is set to travel to Stratford with the squad tomorrow (3pm), told Echosport: “I think myself, Sammy (Jordan) and Thommo (Ben Thomson), prefer playing as a front two, but if Jase (Matthews, manager) goes and plays one up top and plays me wide right, that’s fine.
“I certainly know that Thommo likes having support up there.
“It’s like anything. If you ask a striker to play up front on his own, sometimes he can be isolated, other times he is asked to be the pivot man and hold the ball up.
“I think when you play two up top you can play off each other, you can get that extra man in there and we can get the ball in the right areas more.”
He added: “Sometimes, with just the one up top, we are sometimes guilty of maybe thinking ‘right, we don’t want to cross’ and we turn back out.
“I just think we created more (last Saturday) because we had the extra body in the box and it was encouraging our wingers to cross the ball.”
