TERRAS’ manager Jason Matthews is delighted to see Sam Jordan in amongst the goals at Melksham Town and is looking forward to getting the frontman back in his squad.

Former Bradford Town man Jordan, who joined the Terras in the summer with a big reputation as a goalscorer in the Western League, told Echosport “I want to give Weymouth my all” in an interview earlier this month.

That came after scoring on his debut for Melksham against Cribbs. Jordan also added to his tally for his loan club by netting the winner in their FA Vase tie against Hartley Wintney in midweek.

Matthews has been happy with the fact the striker has found the net during his short spell away and is set to welcome him back when Weymouth host Frome Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Asked about Jordan in the build-up to Weymouth’s league clash at Redditch United this afternoon (3pm), Matthews said: “Sam has done superbly since he has gone out and that is exactly the reason why I let him out – to get a couple of games under his belt.

“He will come back confident and also come back match fit, which, unfortunately for Sam, is something he hasn’t been able to be (for Weymouth) as yet.

“If he does come back and fires some goals for me, the grief I have taken for letting him out for a couple of games will be all worthwhile.”

He added: “The whole point for me this season was to have three hungry strikers. Ben Thomson and Yetts (Stewart Yetton) obviously took the lead last week and did really well.

“Sam has been very unfortunate with injury and, when we have had injuries he hasn’t been fit to start, which has been incredibly frustrating.

“For me personally, I am really looking forward to him coming back.”

Loan duo Bradley Tarbuck and Stuart Fleetwood are set to feature in the final games of their one-month spells with the club this afternoon. As of yet, no extensions to their deals have been announced.
