Before the game this afternoon with Kings Langley, Weymouth manager Jason Matthews spoke to theterras.com’s Josh Barton.

Josh Barton: After, playing some younger more fringe players, like Dom Panesar-Dower and Tiago Sa, do you plan on continue using them in the remainder of this season?

Jason Matthews: Both those 2 lads have done extremely well and will be in the squad on merit, Dom needs some game time so will play for reserves tomorrow. But will return to squad next week.

JB: You have stated that you do not intend to play in goal and that your playing career is coming to an end after this season. What are your feelings after making that decision?

JM: I feel looking at this season I need to concentrate the management and looking at the form of Tom, he made me feel safe on the side lines.

JB: In your time as manager so far, has anyone stood out for you as a particularly hard worker in training?

JM: All training sessions are different, some are intense, for example last night I felt everyone was really at it, which shows there’s desire in squad. Some players do unreal things in training but for me it’s different to a real game, we have trained a lot more this season, I expect the players to train as they play.

JB: Can you provide an update on Chris Shephard’s injury? Will we see him in a Weymouth shirt again this season?

JM: Shep had a scan 10 days ago of which we should get the results on Monday. Then we will know the extent of the injury.
