Preview: Alfie Lumb

The Terras are back at the Bob Lucas on Saturday as they take on Kings Lynn Town.

Weymouth are still looking for their first win of the campaign as well as their first goal following defeat by Barnet on Tuesday night at the Hive.

Kings Lynn currently sit in fourteenth place with four points, though have lost their last two fixtures, conceding five against Solihull Moors and three against Boreham Wood. The Linnets will be without midfielder Jamar Loza. The Jamaican international, capped four times by his country, was sent off in their clash with Boreham Wood.

The Terras will have to be wary of Adam Marriot. The Linnets striker has an impressive goal scoring record for the club, netting fifty three times in sixty five games.

The last time the sides faced each other in the league was the 2017-18 season. The Linnets finished second that season, with the Terras finishing fifth. Weymouth lost 3-0 on the last day of the season to the Linnets in the race to one hundred points. Both sides sat on ninety plus points before the start of play.

Weymouth are looking to kick start their season and will be hoping to net, and will be hoping to capitalise from the Linnets last two fixtures.

Thoughts from the manager

Speaking to UptheTerras.co.uk, Brian Stock remained upbeat about the game “we’re going to keep playing good football and hopefully, we can work on a few things.”

He continued to talk about the preparation the Terras had been putting into the game. Stating that Weymouth “haven’t had the opportunity to train for the last two weeks.” This is due to the COVID outbreak that hit the club.

Stock was confident that his side will be able to address the lack of goals so far this season; “When we looked into the Barnet game on Tuesday night, the amount of entries into the final third, crosses and shots on and off target, the stats were a real improvement.”
