WEYMOUTH Reserves secured a 3-1 victory over Andover New Street despite a forgettable performance.
The Terras did not start the game well, with the visitors dominating possession for large spells.
They did however, nearly take the lead as Jacob Carter won the ball and slid it through to Conor Jevon who uncharacteristically missed one on one.
Despite creating three or four half chances, it was the visitors who took the lead as they floated a free-kick into the box which appeared to evade everyone and bounce into the net at the far post.
Weymouth improved slightly in the second period, and got an equaliser when Morgan Turner latched on to a loose ball and chipped the ball over the keeper from 20 yards.
They took the lead not long after when Carter set up Jevon once again, this time with the striker able to bundle the ball home.
The Terras looked solid if unspectacular but secured the victory when Sanchez Baker powered a header home to secure the victory for a relieved Bradley Asagba.
He said: “It’s hard to be disappointed when we won 3-1.
“It’s not like we were on the ropes at any point but you do get games like this where you aren’t that impressive.
“Without being brilliant or playing as well as I would have liked, we controlled the game.
“As manager you need to take into account that other teams have added motivation coming to play at our ground, having never played in a facility like ours, and most of them won’t get the opportunity again.
“All the club officials, families and friends were there to have a day of it so they had added motivation and you have to factor that in.
“Although the performance was far from the level we’ve reached this season, and the standard I think we should be at, we ground out another result.
“No-one is going to come back in June or July and talk about a sparkling performance, it’s about winning games.
“They were on the front foot, but with all due respect we have better players and even when the performances aren’t as good as you’d like you expect these players to produce something and set themselves apart from the rest, and that’s what happened.”
