CARETAKER-MANAGER Paul Maitland insists he has challenged the Terras to finish the campaign on a winning run.
The first-team goalkeeping coach, who is currently in the hot-seat alongside Mark Molesley, saw his side triumph 2-0 during the duo’s first game in charge against Chesham United.
That made it three wins on the bounce for Weymouth and 12 games unbeaten in all competitions.
And Maitland is confident they can keep their positive run of form going.
“We are really pleased to pick up three points and break into the top-10,” he told Echosport after the win against the Generals at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
“That shouldn’t be celebrated I know but it’s still nice to feel we have got there – it will make me sleep a little bit better!”
He added: “We feel we have three games, it’s our team for three games, and we want to put our stamp on it over them if we can.
“We have set the players the target to finish the season with five wins in a row. That’s the target we have set them and, if we can do that, it sets everybody off into the summer a bit brighter and happier.
“I have been a little bit more in the public eye than I am used to being but it’s character building for me and sometimes you have to step up and do these things.”
