Josh Barton of theterras.com spoke to September player of the month Harry Baker.

Josh Barton: Congratulations on winning the September player of the month. You must be pleased.

Harry Baker: I’m very pleased to win the award! It’s nice to be recognised but I’d swap all individual awards for silverware and a well placed fished in the league!

JB: What was your favourite goal in September?

HB: My favourite goal would have to be my first against Odd Down in the FA Cup I’m a player that puts a lot of pressure on myself, so when that hit the back of the net, it was a very nice feeling!

JB: Describe the feeling of scoring a big goal in front of the fans.

HB: It’s great because it’s clear to see how much it means to them! My goal against Kettering was brilliant because of knowing my goal sealed the three points and it was great for the fans. I may of got a bit carried away with the celebration!

JB: Are you confident going into games now you have started scoring goals at this level?

HB: Yeah I would say so. At this level chances don’t come around all the time. I’ve been practicing on my finishing in training so when that chance comes, I’ve given myself every chance of putting the ball in the net!

JB: As a striker, do you have any other strikers that you look up?

HB: My idol is Luis Suarez.. I love the way he plays with no fear and the way he tries things out of the blue. His work rate for the team is great. I’m also a big fan of Harry Kane.
